Share and publish

Use this guide to create share links, revoke access, and publish documents.

Private links

A private share URL contains a capability key. Anyone with the key can use the permissions assigned to that link.

Do not paste owner or edit links into public channels. Share links grant access to anyone who receives them, including view and comment links.

The following roles control document access:

• View: Read the document and its visible history
• Comment: Read and participate in comment threads
• Suggest: Comment and propose edits
• Edit: Edit Markdown and accept or reject suggestions
• Owner: Administer access and delete the document

Create and revoke links

To create a share link, follow these steps:

1. Open Share.
2. In New share link, select the required permissions.
3. Click Create link.
4. Click Copy.

To revoke a link, open Share with owner access. In Share links, click Revoke, then Confirm revocation for that link.

Revoking a link ends access through that key.

Account-owned documents

To create account-owned documents, sign in with mere.world. Your documents appear on the account page.

To save an anonymous document to your account, click Save to your account in the editor or Share panel.

You can also use Add a document to your account on the account page. Enter an edit or owner link, then click Add to workspace.

Publish a document

With owner access, in Share, click Publish to the web. Publishing creates a public reading page and public Markdown:

Replace DOC_ID with your document ID.

Publishing does not expose private share keys. Unpublishing removes public access but preserves the private document and collaboration history.

Check before publishing

Read the source for secrets, internal links, and uploaded media you do not intend to expose. Publishing is an explicit change in audience.

Share with an agent

Give an agent the same kind of share URL that you give a person. It can extract the document ID and key, or pass the URL directly to agmd and MCP tools.

Use a separate suggest or edit link for the agent, depending on whether its changes need review.
